I told Karin that when I read a book, if it does not grab my attention in the first chapter then the book would be put down, never to be opened again. I am thrilled to say that Karin’s book captivated me from start to finish. Her writing ability is second to none.

The way she described events that had happened in her life, the good, the bad and the ugly had my imagination believing I was walking in her shoes. There is the old saying ‘you cannot judge a book by its cover.’ That saying can be used to describe Karin. Her hard work, her planning, her inner grit, and determination have brought her and her family to where they are today.

I hope you enjoy reading Karin’s book as much as I did. I wish her and her family all the happiness in the world, whatever paths they all choose to take.

I encourage Karin to continue to write more books for the world to enjoy.

I couldn’t wait to get started on your book so I pushed Michelle Obama aside and opened it. When the lady writing the forward said if a book doesn’t grab her in the first few pages, she puts it down (me too!) but she couldn’t put yours down, I knew I would love it. And I do! Congratulations Karin Jarvis. You are so clever. Not too far in yet but what I have read so far is fabulous. You are a natural writer and your story is so interesting! Well done.

I’ve just finished reading your book and all I can say is “Wow”! Once I started reading I literally could not stop. I know we only worked together briefly but there is so much of your life I didn’t know. And so much I could relate to also. I have been on my own journey to find me for a while now and your story put words to a lot of what I think and feel. I am so glad I saw your post about your book – it’s good. You are very talented and write so well. Thank you for sharing your story. It was so brave of you and I know I will remember it for a long time.

I’ve finished the book. WOW! What actually drew me to your book Karin, was ‘the Goodbyes’ – I was keen to know how to cope with them. I have had more than my share of Goodbyes – they were never initiated by me though.

I guess when it’s your decision to leave and move on you can accept the Goodbye? I personally, am too weak for that. I stay, no matter what. I expected that when you left Merredin, you would end your marriage to Ray.

But then I was pleasantly surprised that with your extreme aptitude, you managed to continue with your marriage and also build a successful life. You are FAR more resilient than me. And GOOD ON YOU for that. It’s a brilliant story to read- a brilliant life you’ve led.

A beautifully written, emotional journey that is far from over.

I absolutely loved “With Every Goodbye” by Karin Jarvis. This book hit me right in the heart—it’s one of those stories that stays with you long after you turn the last page. Jarvis has a way of writing that feels so real it indelibly compels the reader to connect with each character.

The story deals with love, loss, and moving forward in a way that is deeply personal. The characters are flawed but lovable, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way.

The writing captures the essence of Jarvis. It is raw yet beautiful, and the emotions are so well captured that I felt every bit of heartbreak and hope right along with them.

If you enjoy books that make you feel something, With Every Goodbye is a must-read. It’s emotional, inspiring, thought-provoking, and ultimately uplifting. I can’t recommend it enough!

Potentially a bias review as this book is written by my mother. However, it took me a few months to actually have the strength to read this book as I was worried about the content.

It takes guts and determination to number one write a book, then have it published. For that I am very proud of Karin.

The story of my grandparents arrival in Australia from Germany also paints a picture of how tough it was culturally and how hard they worked in their community and raised three daughters in a small rural West Australian country town with much success.

My mothers story is raw, true and the struggles with my sister has been tough… bloody tough… so people who have children with ADHD, Asperger’s and other behavioural issues will relate well and will empathise.

I congratulate my mother on her book and hope she writes another soon… a different topic of course!

With Every Goodbye is an absolute gem of a memoir. From the harsh environment of a Western Australian wheat belt town, to the vibrant possibility of a life lived ‘along the road less travelled’, this book shares the story of a remarkable woman.

Beginning in the bygone era of 1950s country WA, Karin lives a life filled with hardship and hope. Yet, she knows there is more to life than the one into which she was born. So begins Karin’s journey to create a different life for her family and herself.

If you’re looking for a story which will stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page, I wholeheartedly recommend “With Every Goodbye.” It’s a testament to the human spirit and a celebration of life in all its complexities… a must-read for anyone seeking inspiration, insight, or a captivating tale.

What a sincere read. Open and honest, it will resonate with so many who dedicate their lives to outdated and self destructive values, only to forget their own path. Great book, Karin.

With Every Goodbye is an intensely raw expression of trying to navigate this ever changing world into which we are born. Beautifully recounted with great heart. It is compelling reading. A magnificent and very brave effort.
